IF YOU’RE PLANNING A THE VENUE BOWERS MILL HALIFAX WEDDING, YOU’LL LOVE THIS WEDDING FOR INSPIRATION!
Amy and Nigel got married at The Venue @ Bowers Mill, which is an old mill in Halifax with an urban vibe. It was such a fun day and the sun even made an appearance! This The Venue Bowers Mill Halifax Wedding was the perfect day to photograph.
WHY THE VENUE @ BOWERS MILL IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET MARRIED
The Venue @ Bowers Mill is really peaceful and secluded and is one of the coolest places to get married in Halifax. The venue offers an onsite hotel so guests don’t have to travel home – and there are so many beautiful spots that are perfect for photos.
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was an intimate service with their family and friends. During the ceremony when asked ‘Do you take this woman to be your wife? Nigel answered ‘absolutely I do!’- it was hilarious. They decorated the area with flowers, which I loved. The reception was in the main hall at The Venue @ Bowers Mill – I love this venue because it’s so big and spacious but still feels cosy and inviting. Weddings at The Venue @ Bowers Mill are amazing because the building is completely stunning.
THE RECEPTION
The couple had drinks and canapes after ceremony and a magician surprised their guests with some fun entertainment. For food they had a roast dinner which followed some epic speeches – one with lots of props and all with lots of laughs!
THE EVENING
Amy & Nigel hired the amazing Hyde Family Band whom they first heard busking in York! They had sooooo many people up dancing! It was quite emotional because for many it was the first live music they had heard since the start of the pandemic and one of the first big gigs the band had had for 18 months. They finished off the evening with having a blast the dancefloor with their nearest and dearest.
THE COUPLE
Amy and Nigel met several years when Amy joined the company Nigel worked for. They got engaged on Orrest Head in the Lake District in pouring rain – Amy described the proposal as ‘perfect’. They chose The Venue @ Bowers Mill because of the rustic feel and because it was close to home for all their friends and family. They were most looking forward to dancing the night away with all their loved ones, which I’m glad to say is exactly what happened. The couple got in touch with me years ago, and their enquiry was lovely because Amy said ‘I love everything about your photos’. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they just really wanted me there.
ADVICE FOR PLANNING YOUR WEDDING AT THE VENUE @ BOWERS MILL
This venue is brilliant if you want a place to yourselves with somewhere onsite that you can stay. I really like the way the venue use all the space – the ceremony is in a side room and then the main room is divided into three. New sections of the room are opened up throughout the day until by the evening the whole space is revealed.
