Michaela and Mark got married at Bradford Cathedral, which is in the centre of Bradford and close to the couple’s home Church and work. They then went on to The Mansion at Roundhay Park in Leeds for their reception. It was the most beautiful wedding and the sun shone all day long!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was a church service with a twist. There was amazing live music before the ceremony and the bride and bridesmaids walked down the very long aisle. I actually cried during Michaela’s walk down the aisle because the moment was so perfect. The sermon was done via zoom due to covid travel restrictions. There was a brilliant moment when Michaela’s dad passed them some toilet roll to tie in with the vicar wishing them a “soft, strong and very very long marriage.”
THE RECEPTION
The couple had a drinks reception on the lawn outside the cathedral. Michaela and Mark are both active members of their church and work for a large but close-knit charity, which meant there were lots of people who came to see them get married, The drinks reception gave them the opportunity to say hello to those who weren’t coming onto the wedding breakfast. At The Mansion they had a slap-up dinner and some wonderful speeches. We also snook in a little walk to get some chilled portraits.
THE PARTY
It was lovely to see lots of the couple’
s friends arrive back in the evening in time for the dancing. Mark’s band played and he did actually join in for a song or two. The dancefloor was so busy with lots of people showing off their moves.
THE COUPLE
Michaela and Mark got in touch with me last year when they had booked The Mansion. They said that they had really liked photos I had taken at friends’ weddings, and I loved that they had thought of me. Michaela and I worked together years ago and I have fond memories of how warm and kind she is and I knew it was going to be a fab day.
