I really enjoyed doing Alex and Catherine’s Herd Farm wedding photography. This was my first time photographing a wedding at Herd Farm. This little hidden gem of a venue sits tucked away in the Yorkshire countryside, yet it stays only a short drive from the center of Leeds. I felt so lucky to be back with this family after photographing Alex’s sister’s wedding a few years ago. It truly feels like an absolute delight to document another big milestone for such a lovely group!
A Meaningful Family Ceremony
Alex and Catherine got ready separately with their “Best People” before heading to St Barnabas Church in Heaton for a beautiful service. This ceremony felt like a proper family affair! Alex’s Dad led the service while his Granny officially married the couple. Other family members joined in with readings, prayers, music, and the sermon, which made the whole experience incredibly personal and unique.
Colourful Marquee Celebrations at herd farm
There were drinks and snacks in the sunshine when everyone arrived at Herd Farm. We did some group photographs making the most of the breathtaking Yorkshire views.
The couple chose a bell marquee at Herd Farm for their reception. They decorated the space beautifully with bright colours and displayed tons of nostalgic childhood and family photographs. Everyone enjoyed a really yummy curry for the wedding breakfast, followed by a series of heartwarming speeches before the dessert table officially opened!
Energy on the Dancefloor
Motif performed brilliantly, as always, and they did a fantastic job of getting the party started. The room practically buzzed with energy! It was the perfect way to celebrate such a wonderful couple.
Catherine and Alex, thank you so much for having me along to photograph your Herd Farm wedding. I loved catching up with your family and capturing these amazing memories!
