Wahoo! I love a little road trip and exploring new places, and this wedding allowed me to do both! A lovely bridesmaid from a previous wedding, Hannah, recommended me to her friend Jenn. Hannah gave me the biggest compliment ever when she said: “I recommended you because I’ve never had another photographer capture me in such a beautiful way as you did!” I hope every single one of my clients feels that way when they see their gallery.
Plas Dinam Country House Wedding Photographer
Jenn and Kurt booked me as their Plas Dinam Country House wedding photographer, and I felt so honoured to document their day. You can find this private, family-run venue in Llandinam, Powys, right in the heart of the breathtaking Welsh countryside.
A Grand Yet Cosy Home From Home
Plas Dinam is a total hidden gem. It offers grand, beautiful architecture but somehow feels like a cosy “home from home.” With 15 bedrooms, it accommodates 36 guests, making it perfect for a full wedding weekend. The venue also offers a self-catering option, allowing you to provide your own food and drinks with no corkage, which is an amazing bonus for a DIY-style celebration!
The Morning and Ceremony
Jenn and Kurt invited their closest family and friends to stay at the house for the whole weekend. They enjoyed a meal together the night before, which meant everyone felt relaxed on the big day. On the morning of the wedding, both Jenn and Kurt got ready in different parts of the house with plenty of space to breathe.
The couple held their ceremony in the grand drawing room. A string quartet provided the soundtrack, including one of Jenn’s cousins, which added such a lovely personal touch. After the “I dos,” we headed out for confetti and drinks on the lawn. Even though it was October, the sun shone like a mid-summer day!
Portraits in the Greenhouse
After the couple spent plenty of time mingling with their guests, we whizzed through some group photos and portraits. My absolute favourite location for portraits was the greenhouse at the back of the stables. The light and colours in there looked beautiful!
A Courtroom Drama and a Packed Dancefloor
Back at the stables, the guests enjoyed mouth-watering sharing platters. The speeches were brilliant, especially the bridesmaids’ speech, which they performed in the style of a courtroom drama!
The dancefloor at this wedding reached the next level. I don’t think I have ever seen so many guests dance with so much passion! Jenn and Kurt asked every guest to choose a song on their invite, which definitely helped get everyone moving. The whole vibe felt so fun and relaxed that the guests had zero inhibitions when the music started.
Thank you, Jenn and Kurt, for having me along to your incredible Plas Dinam Country House wedding. I loved every second!
