Ashley and Emma got married at The Principal Hotel, which is a grand hotel in York with stunning grounds. It was such a fun wedding and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
THE SERIOUS PART
The ceremony was an intimate service because covid restrictions only allowed 15 guests. During the ceremony, the couple used a phone to live stream to the rest of their family and friends. It was a really lovely ceremony.
They decorated the area with sashes, which I loved. The reception was in a beautiful room at The Principal Hotel – I love this venue because the light is gorgeous for portraits and candids. Weddings at The Principal Hotel are amazing because the decor is so gorgeous.

The Principal Hotel is perfect for couples who want a chilled out wedding and is one of the grandest places to get married in York. The venue offers an onsite hotel so guests don’t have to travel home – and there are so many incredible backdrops that are perfect for photos.
THE AFTERNOON
The couple headed into York in a camper van in the afternoon, and we had some fun taking photos near the Minster. For tea, they had a slap-up meal, and the first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle. They finished off the evening with more food.
THE COUPLE
Ashley wore a stunning trouser suit and Emma wore a traditional white gown and they looked really gorgeous.
The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they just really wanted me there.
