IBERICA LEEDS WEDDING

Oct 26, 2019

THIS IS THE PERFECT INSPO IF YOU’RE PLANNING A IBERICA LEEDS WEDDING

Olwen and Daniel are originally from Belfast and moved to Leeds a few years ago. They wanted their wedding to be an opportunity for their friends and family to see the city that they now call home (let’s just ignore for now that they ended up moving to London shortly before the wedding!). They hired one of their favourite restaurants for their reception and had an epic Iberica Leeds wedding. All their guests got a taste of what this amazing city has to offer.

GETTING READY

Olwen hired one of the Mansio Apartments to get ready in – there was a bedroom as well as a kitchen diner which meant there was plenty of space for everyone. It was lovely to work with Bow & Blush again too and they did a fantastic job with all the hair and make-up. Olwen was so incredibly chilled and the only request she made all morning was to ask her dad to make her a boiled egg! The apartment was on the ground floor, so I was able to get creative and to take some photos through the window from outside.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony took place at Leeds Town Hall, with Daniel arriving by foot after having a pre-wedding tipple at one of the local bars (and who can blame him?). Olwen was a tad early so had to hide until the guests and Daniel had gone through to the ceremony room. The ceremony itself was full of laughs (as you can see from the photos) and at the end we headed straight out to the stairs at the front of Leeds Town Hall. We whizzed through a few group shots and then the guests went ahead to The Iberica whilst Olwen and Daniel had a five-minute breather (and I grabbed some portraits of them).

THE RECEPTION AT IBERICA LEEDS

I had never been to the Iberica before and had NO IDEA just how stunning it was going to be! Please, please if you’re planning a Leeds City Centre Wedding, go and have a look, and book and then book me so I can shoot there again! Honestly, it has such a wow factor with all the vintage features, high ceiling and beautiful colour palette. Even if you’re not planning a wedding, just go – you will not be disappointed. The tapas was flowing, and flowing, and flowing (SO much food!) and the staff are amazing. There were a few hilarious speeches that had the guests were howling with laughter (the Irish have a brilliant sense of humour!).

THE EVENING

The brilliant Blue Lion Band were playing in the evening and the dance floor was packed. I believe there was more food (this was a proper foodie wedding) and the stunning cake was cut.
