Wahoo! Village hall weddings are my absolute favorite and Gemma and Kristian’s Hurst Green Memorial Hall wedding was no exception. This couple and their guests were so fun and relaxed, which makes my job as a photographer a total breeze.
Getting Ready & the ceremony
I started the day with Gemma who got ready in some nearby holiday lodges. We laughed so much while she was getting ready, and you can really see that joy in the photos! We then headed to the church for the ceremony. It was raining when Gemma arrived but she took it all in her stride and didn’t let a few raindrops dampen her spirit one bit.
On the way to the reception, we stopped off at Stonyhurst College for a few photographs and a little breather. It is such an iconic backdrop and gave the couple a quiet moment together before the party kicked off.
THE WEDDING RECEPTION AT HURTS GREEN MEMORIAL HALL
Gemma’s Dad actually owns a restaurant and he arranged all the food for the day. He made sure he had the day off from cooking though so he could properly enjoy the celebrations! After a delicious hog roast, salad, and some brilliant speeches, the atmosphere took a very exciting turn.
Everyone gathered around the screen to watch England play Switzerland in the Euro quarter finals. I absolutely loved documenting all the emotion during the match. When England finally won on penalties, the whole wedding went wild! It was such a unique and high-energy moment to capture.
The celebrations continued with everyone enjoying evening drinks on the lawn while one of their friends played some live music. We finished off the night with lots of dancing to cap off an epic day.
Gemma and Kristian, thank you for being such legends. I had the best time capturing all the madness and magic of your day!
