I felt so happy to capture Kiera and James’ incredible day at East Riddlesden Hall. My morning began at a local holiday park where I photographed Kiera’s preparations. She is such a warm and welcoming person, so I felt right at home immediately! Her make-up looked absolutely stunning, and I loved capturing the funny, genuine moments between her and her mum as she put on her dress.
A Historic Barn Venue in West Yorkshire
East Riddlesden Hall is a magnificent 17th-century manor house and barn managed by the National Trust. Located near Keighley, it offers a perfect blend of historic stone architecture, romantic gardens, and a rustic Great Barn that looks magical when filled with fairy lights. It is easily one of my favourite West Yorkshire wedding venues to photograph!
A FairyLight lit Ceremony and a Special Ring Bearer
I met my second shooter, Emily, at the venue. She had spent the morning documenting James and his best people before we set up to record the ceremony. The Great Barn looked breathtaking with thousands of twinkly fairylights reflecting off the ancient wooden beams.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, but my favourite part involved their rescue Golden Retriever, Luna. She made a star appearance as the ring bearer, dressed perfectly for the occasion! Seeing her trot down the aisle with the rings was a moment no one will forget, especially as she narrowly missed a candle!
Sun-Drenched Celebrations and Live Music
After a massive confetti throw, the couple enjoyed a long afternoon of hugs and congratulations. The sun shone all day, and the live music created such a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere in front of the lake. Luna, of course, enjoyed every second of the attention from the guests!
After we finished the group photos, I wandered into the gardens with Kiera and James for their portraits. The summer flowers were in full bloom, providing a vibrant backdrop against the historic hall.
Heartfelt Speeches and Golden Hour Portraits
The speeches provided the perfect mix of emotion and humour. I particularly enjoyed the speech from Kiera’s brother; he did a fantastic job! Because the sun stayed out well into the evening, everyone headed back outside after the food to enjoy the warm air.
I love summer evenings like this because they feel so happy and laid back. We sneaked away for a few more portraits during golden hour to make the most of the golden hour light. The celebrations finished with a lovely first dance, capping off a truly wonderful day.
Thank you so much, Kiera and James, for having me along to your East Riddlesden Hall wedding!
