Burythorpe House Wedding

Jun 29, 2025

I felt so happy when Livvy and Tom booked me for their big day. They first met me at a venue open day, and Livvy told me that as soon as she saw my colourful work, she knew she wanted me to capture their wedding. It was an absolute honour to be their Burythorpe House wedding photographer.

A Boutique Gem in North Yorkshire

Burythorpe House is a stunning boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside, just near Malton. This 18th-century country house feels both grand and incredibly welcoming, offering a mix of historic charm and modern luxury. With its beautiful gardens and elegant interiors, it provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxed yet sophisticated wedding.

Morning Prep and Garden Spying

Both Livvy and Tom got ready at Burythorpe House. I started by grabbing some shots of Tom outside as he took in some fresh air and admired the venue all set up. I then headed up to the bridal suite to find Livvy and her bridesmaids. We had such a laugh together, especially when we spent time spying on the guests as they arrived from the window overlooking the garden!

A Sunny Outdoor Ceremony with Ruby the Cavapoo

Livvy and Tom enjoyed amazing weather and finally had the outdoor ceremony they dreamed of. It was a little windy, but the sunshine made everything feel magical. Their adorable Cavapoo, Ruby, watched on as they said their vows. After the ceremony, a huge cloud of confetti filled the air as the couple made their way back up the aisle to start the party.

Portraits with the Pup

Once the couple spent plenty of time mingling with their guests, we found the least windy spot in the gardens for group photographs. We then took Ruby for a little walk around the grounds. This gave Livvy and Tom a quiet moment together and allowed me to capture some lovely shots of the three of them.

Legendry Speeches and Musical Parodies

We headed inside for what turned out to be some of the best speeches I have ever heard. The band, 24 Live, performed acoustic music throughout the day and really went above and beyond during the best man’s speech. They provided the backing track while he sang a hilarious parody of Wonderwall, rewriting the lyrics to tell Livvy and Tom’s story. It had the whole room in stitches!

Partying in the Garden Room

The celebrations then moved into outside room, which opens out into a lovely bright space with its own garden access. The evening kicked off with tequila shots, incredible grazing tables, and some fabulous dancing.

Since this wedding fell on one of the longest days of the year, we took full advantage of the late sunset. We sneaked back outside for some golden hour evening portraits before I headed home with a massive grin on my face.

Thank you so much, Livvy and Tom, for having me along. I loved every single minute of your Burythorpe House wedding!
