I am so excited to share Jacob and Lizzie’s gorgeous wedding reception at The Shireburn Arms in Clitheroe. These two officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Scotland a few days prior, so this day focused entirely on celebrating with all their favourite people in the heart of the Ribble Valley. This was my first time doing Shireburn Arms wedding photography and I hope to be back soon.
A Stunning Country House Venue in Clitheroe
The Shireburn Arms is a 17th-century country inn that offers some of the most incredible views of the Ribble Valley. It’s got rustic charm, amazing food, and a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. The downstairs games room is one of my favourite features as it’s so unique to the venue.
Portraits in the Golden Light
We started the evening with a photoshoot before any of the guests arrived. This gave Jacob and Lizzie some quiet time together to soak in the celebrations and allowed us to make the most of the beautiful surroundings.
The Shireburn Arms offers so many gorgeous spots for photographs that we felt spoilt for choice! We enjoyed some absolutely stunning light, which always makes me squeal like a child on a swing. As always, I kept the session super casual and fun so the couple never felt awkward in front of the lens. They look so happy!
Ninja Candid Duty
As the guests began to arrive, I switched into “ninja candid mode.” I love this part of the day, where I inconspicuously move through the crowd to capture those genuine, unposed moments during the drinks reception. The big laughs, the tight hugs, and the happy tears are my favourites.
Heartfelt Speeches and a Packed Dancefloor
After everyone enjoyed some delicious food, the room settled in for the speeches. They were incredibly heartfelt and gave everyone a lovely insight into Jacob and Lizzie’s journey together.
Once the formalities finished, the party really kicked off! The dancefloor filled up immediately, and the energy stayed high for the rest of the evening. It was the perfect end to a beautiful celebration.
