Gemma and Richard got married at Oakwell Hall, which is a country house in Birstall with countryside views. It was such a fun day and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was an intimate service in the main hall. I love this hall because of all the history there. Their dogs and family dogs were present through the ceremony which was a really lovely touch. It was so personal. We then headed outside for drinks and snacks. The couple were keen to get some nice portraits of the two of them so we snook back into the hall before it opened to the public and had a little photo shoot. The dogs joined us outside for a few shots too.
THE RECEPTION
The reception was in the barn at Oakwell Hall which they decorated with bunting and gothic touches. The couple had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening, I love this venue because you can totally personalise it. Weddings at Oakwell Hall are amazing because the grounds are completely stunning.
THE COUPLE
Gemma wore a gorgeous black two-piece, Richard wore a black suit and their dogs wore matching little bowties. They all looked really perfect. The couple got in touch with me last minute after seeing some of my work on Instagram. They shared some examples of my creative portraits they liked which was really lovely to see. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer offered just a few hours of coverage.
