Emma and Rowan actually live in South Yorkshire but decided to have their wedding at The Alma Inn in Colne. Emma had spent time their as part of her job in fashion design and loved the views and quaint feel of the inn. I actually went to school with Emma, so it was especially lovely when she got in touch to see if I was free. Here’s some more about their day.
GETTING READY
Emma and Rowan were both able to get ready at The Alma Inn. They had rooms close by to each other but managed to avoid bumping into each other! Emma had make-up in one room and hair in another which left her bedroom relaxed for hanging out and getting dressed. Emma had the most beautiful Justin Alexander dress from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge. Everyone couldn’t help but swoon over the beautiful detail at the back. Rowan and his friends went out to admire the views and have a drink before the ceremony.
THE CEREMONY
Emma and Rowan had a gorgeous ceremony with lots of tears. Several friends did readings and it was very personal. The large windows of the conservatory let in lots of light and the view is absolutely stunning. They walked straight out of their ceremony into a tunnel of confetti throwing guests.
THE RECEPTION
The Alma Inn is such a gorgeous setting for a wedding because there is plenty of seating outside and everyone is close together. My second shooter and I had great opportunities to get lots of candid photos whilst the guests enjoyed their drinks in the sun. We headed inside for the speeches and lots of yummy Alma Inn food.
THE EVENING
Emma and Rowan went for a little walk at dusk in the fields, which of course we followed them for. To be honest we were totally spoiled by the location of the Alma Inn and it made it easy to get so many stunning photographs. We then headed back in time for the dancing.
