LYMM DIY MARQUEE WEDDING

Jun 1, 2018

THIS IS PERFECT INSPO IF YOU’RE PLANNING A LYMM DIY MARQUEE WEDDING!

Katie and Andy got married in their home village of Lymm, Cheshire. Katie and Andy are both big parts of the community and do lots of charity work, so it made sense to keep the wedding as local as possible. They hired their local parish centre, added a marquee and lots of DIY details and had the best day celebrating! This Lymm Diy Marquee wedding was such a perfect day.

GETTING READY

Katie got ready at her family home in Lymm and the house was filled with memories and laughter. It was lovely to photograph Katie in her childhood bedroom, with the help of her best friend, mum and sister. Katie did her own make-up and did such a gorgeous job of it!

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony took place in their local church and was filled to the rafters! It was a beautiful ceremony, full of so much love and lots of cheer. After the ceremony, the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for us to get some candid photos and then a big confetti shot. The guests jumped on Katie and Andy’s friends’ land train to head down the road to the reception venue whilst I took some portraits of the happy couple by Lymm damn.

THE RECEPTION

My second shooter Becki headed straight to photograph the rest of the wedding at Lymm Parish Centre. They had decorated it so beautifully with lots of paper decorations, bunting, flowers and photographs. Drinks were laid out in glass drinks dispensers and afternoon tea was served shortly after the bride and groom arrived. The speeches were fantastic, with lots of embarrassing stories.

THE EVENING

The lovely thing about DIY weddings is that the schedule can be quite fluid. The sun was far too bright to do the group photos earlier in the day, so we headed into the field after the afternoon tea. We headed for the shade so we were able to get the group photos without anyone squinting! The guests then enjoyed lots of time hanging out on the hay bales and enjoying their drinks in the last of the sunshine. The ceilidh was held in Lymm parish centre and was so much fun! I think they are my favourite evening entertainment to photograph – everyone always laughs so much! Photographing this Lymm wedding was an absolute honour, thank you so much for having me, Katie and Andy.
